Third quarter has been an eventful one here at Webcom, Inc. The new release of WebSource CPQ V6.1.1 is here, and we guarantee that you will benefit from the new features! Using your suggestions and ideas, we have expanded WebSource's already advanced and powerful capabilities.

We continue to be the innovation leader in our space. In addition to being the only pure on demand, multitenant SaaS provider, we are continuously expanding our functionality. For example, the V6.1.1 release of CPQ will offer significant improvements in the collaboration area by introducing discussions, news, questions and polls. At the same time, we continue our main mission which is to help sales people sell more effectively and more efficiently. With this release we are introducing a concept of margin heath analysis, which allows sales people and partners to quickly spot which discounting levels fall above or below threshold of good, acceptable or bad business. Instead of having to guess which discounts make good business sense, our software now offers price optimization sliders which can be adjusted by sales people to automatically compute and apply appropriate discounts.

Enhancements to WebSource CPQ Focus on Continued Leadership in Ease of Use of the Application

Milwaukee, WI, September 18, 2008 -- Webcom, Inc., a leader in simplified quote-to-order enablement for the selling of complex products and services, announced today the availability of version 6.1 of its market leading WebSource CPQ (Configuration, Pricing, Quotation & Proposal) solution. With a continued focus on ease of use for both end users and administrators, Webcom continues to receive high marks from its customers for the continual innovation of WebSource CPQ

Webcom, Inc. Hosts 4th Annual Client Summit

Event to Stimulate Exchange of Vision and Ideas

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 7, 2008 - Webcom, Inc., a leader in simplified quote-to-order enablement for the selling of complex products and services, announced today that its annual client summit will be held October 19-21, 2008 at The Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The evening of October 19th we will have a welcome reception and tour of the Harley Davidson Museum. The event will be focused on sharing customer successes, as well as providing a forum for customers to share ideas, innovation and best practice with each other. Additionally, presentations will lay out the Webcom solution roadmap and vision and deliver several live demonstrations on how to exploit new functionality and modules within WebSource CPQ and CallidusCloud WorkFlow. Wednesday, October 22nd, will be an optional administrative training day held in our new offices in downtown Milwaukee, overlooking Lake Michigan to the east and Miller Park to the west.

Power of 'Mock up' Document

Implementing complex product configuration is challenging task. The very same results (correct part number and price) can be achieved by implementing/modeling product options (attributes and rules) in many different ways. Furthermore, positioning of the attributes on the screen (layout) can be handled in many different ways.

The most effective way for product managers to communicate their vision of the product configuration layout to the product modeling team is by creating configuraiton 'mock up' document.

'Mock up' is an excel file that simple shows the positions of each attribute (question) on the screen, as well as how is the attribute presented to the users (radio button/drop down/check box). Attribute labels and notes are documented in the 'mock up' as well. Any additional comments and notes with the respect to the layout can be added to the 'mock up'.

Beauty of using mock up is that product manager has opportunity to crystallize his/her vision of the product configuraiton page and communicated it to product modeling team in clear and simple fashion. It is easily modified page, and can be used to collaborate with other members of the team on fine tuning the final layout. Many layout decisions can easily and painlessly be changed many times in the mock up document, with no impact to the project implementation.

Finally, when modeling team has signed off mock up document, product configuration workbook and test scripts to work with, implementation of the most complex product configuration is a 'walk in the park'.
